Pyramids In Egypt

Do you know that 118 pyramids were discovered and identified in egypt till 2008. Most of them were built in the OLD and MIDDLE kingdom periods.pyramids were built to be tombs of the pharaohs of egypt to replace the mastaba. Most of the pyramids were constructed on the west side of the nile so the sun will setdown behind them as the egyptians believed ( when the suns sets down it takes the dead`s soul with it to the second life).
-These are the most famous and known pyramids :
1- The first pyramid constructed was for the king Djoser and known as Step Pyramid of Djoser (constructed 2630 BCE–2611 BCE), it was constructed during the third dynasty. The pyramid and its complex were designed and constructed by the Great Engineer Imhotep in the Saqqara field.
